I Went To Sharm & All I Got Was This Lousy Blog Post

Sorry for the disappearance folksies. Work sent us to Sharm El Sheikh for the week for a roadshow.

No, there was no internet, unless you were willing to pay LE 75.00 for 30 minutes. So not cool with that. Yes, I am cheap.

What did I do all week, you ask?

I spent 12 hours a day locked in a room with my bosses listening to the same story being repeated to innumerable potential and current shareholders about a million times.

Ugh, how mind-numbing, you exclaim.

Well, there was a plus: I did learn a lot about the company's strategy, about how to bullshit your way around a question, how to make the same story work either for or against you, and how to make wildly different notes on the same speech.

I bet you're tanned though, lucky bitch!

Um... See the bright colourless stuff around the orange text on this page? Yeah, that's me but you can't really tell because I'm so pale. Yes, I have no features either. They sort of blended into the transparency called my skin.

However, to compensate for the lack of attention, here is a double dose of M-Cubed:

1. Patti Scialfa singing "Play It As It Lays":

2. "For Blue Skies" by Strays Don't Sleep:

Mellow Music Mondays (M-Cubed) #2

Over the last couple of days a bunch of split-my-spleen-laughing-then-snorting-at-the-split-spleen moments have graced me with their surprising presence. I haven't laughed this hard in ages.

As much as I'd LOVE to share them with you, they are of the "you had to have been there" types. Not funny at all when relayed. They don't even make sense when relayed, really.

I also can't remember most of them to begin with... But I felt the need to inform you 3 and a quarter readers remaining that I have been having a grand ol' time over here on my side of the screen.

Have have you been doing? Lets hear YOUR stories for a change (I don't know change from what exactly, it isn't like I've been telling stories recently, either. Grapes, don't tell yours. I already know them.)

Which then leads of very nicely to the purpose of today's post. Mellow music. How does asking about you lead to this, you ask? Well, it doesn't. Not unless your name is Susie Suh and you're singing "Give Me Heart". Kindly forgive the video - I don't think Ms. Suh has an official video out for this one. However, it is lovely, and heartbreaking, and worth every moment of the 5:43 minutes you will use up sitting there floored.
